Recover Your Password or Username (Student)

If you forgot your password, by the end of this article you'll be able to recover it.

Let’s get started.

Step 1: Go to the login page here.

Step 2: Click Forgot your login info?

Step 3: A window headed Forgot Your Login Info? opens. Type the email address you used when you created your account into the Email box, then click Send Password Reset Email.

Step 4: After a few minutes, check your email. You'll have a message in your inbox or Spam folder with instructions on how to reset your password.

If you don't receive an email from us within 10 minutes of requesting your Send Password Reset Email, please contact us at support@typing.com for additional help.

If you forgot your username

The same form recovers it. The email lists the USERNAME of every account that uses the address you entered, beside the account type, so an address with more than one account on it returns them all.

Pro-Tip 1: You can recover your password this way only if you gave an email address when you created your account. If you did not, and you are not in a class, you will need to contact support to have your password reset.

Pro-Tip 2: If your student account is part of a class, the form will not send you an email. Ask your instructor, who can read your username off the class roster, print it on a login card, and reset your password for you.

Pro-Tip 3: If you sign in with one of the four buttons above the login form - Google, Microsoft, Clever or ClassLink - your Typing.com account does not have a password of its own, so this form cannot reset one. Use that provider's own “Forgot password” steps instead, or ask your teacher or your school's IT administrator for help.
