Transfer Your Account to Another Teacher (Teacher)
Are you retiring or transitioning to a new subject? No worries! You can easily transfer ownership of your Typing.com teacher account to another teacher. Follow these simple steps to ensure a smooth transition and keep your class running seamlessly.
Step 1: Log in to your Teacher Portal HERE.
Step 2: Hover over your name in the top right corner, then click Account.
Step 3: In the Your Personal Info card, replace (1) Email with the new teacher's address, and change (2) First Name and (3) Last Name to theirs.
Pro-Tip: If the Email field is grayed out, you signed up with Google, Clever, ClassLink or Microsoft Teams, and that provider owns your sign-in. Your password lives with them too, so Change Your Password is on this card only for accounts that sign in with a Typing.com email and password. Submit a request to remove the SSO at support@typing.com first, then start this walkthrough again.
Step 4: Scroll down inside Your Personal Info and click Update Personal Info.
Note: If the new teacher already has a teacher account, you'll need a third email address because there can't be two accounts with the same email. Alternatively, the other teacher can delete their current account. Please specify this in your email to support.
Step 5: At the bottom of Your Personal Info, click Change Your Password. In the window that opens, fill in Current Password, New Password and New Password Again with something generic, then click Update Password.
Step 6: Notify the new teacher of the generic password so they can log in and change it to something secure.
That's it! Now you know how to transfer your teacher account to another teacher. Keep inspiring your students, no matter where your journey takes you! 😊
