How to Set/Change the Class Keyboard Layout (Teacher)
Do different languages use different keyboards? Yes, they do! Typing.com offers various keyboard layouts to accommodate different languages, making it easier for all students to learn and type effectively. Let’s explore how to change the keyboard layout for your class.
Pro-Tip: this sets the layout for the whole class. To set it for one student, tick their name on the Students tab and open Student Settings (PLUS only).
Step 1: Log in to your Teacher Portal here.
Step 2: Click Classes in the left-hand menu, then open the class you want to change.
Step 3: Click Class Settings.
Step 4: Open the Advanced Options tab.
Step 5: Scroll to Keyboard Settings and pick from Keyboard Layout. It starts on United States Standard and runs through the British, Canadian and European layouts to Dvorak and Colemak. Need help deciding? beside the label explains the differences.
Step 6: Click Save All Changes.
That's it! Your class now types on the layout you picked. 😊
