My Students Can't Edit Their Names

Students sometimes need to correct their own name. Whether they can is a Class Settings switch, so here is where to find it.

Pro-Tip:

• After saving the changes, ask your students to log out and log back in.

• This setting covers students who sign in with a username and password, which is what the (non-SSO) in its name means. Students who sign in with Google change their name in their Google account instead; re-sync your class afterwards to pick the change up.

Step 1: Log in to your Teacher Portal here.

Step 2: Click Classes in the left-hand menu, then open the class.

Step 3: Click Class Settings.

Step 4: Open the Advanced Options tab.

Step 5: Under Account Settings, untick Disable account changes (non-SSO) and click Save All Changes.

That's it! Your students can edit their names once they log out and back in. 😊
