Standards Alignment Reporting

Edited

The Standards Alignment report lays your class out as a table: one row per student, one column per standard, so you can see at a glance who has met what. It is the report to reach for when an administrator asks you to show coverage. Here is how to open it, point it at the right class and standard set, and read what it gives you.

Note: Standards Alignment is a teacher report. A District Admin account has its own separate set of reports.

Open the Standards Alignment Report

Step 1: Log in to your Teacher Portal here.

Step 2: Click Reports in the left-hand menu.

Step 3: Under Lesson Reports, click Standards Alignment. The report opens in a window over the Reports page and fills itself in as it opens.

Choose the Class and Standard Set

Step 4: Two dropdowns sit in the report's header: (1) Classes: and (2) Standard:.

Step 5: Pick the class you want in Classes:, one class at a time. The columns you get are the standards mapped to that class's grade level, so a third-grade class and an eighth-grade class are measured against different lists even on the same set.

Step 6: Pick your set in Standard:. The sets on offer are the ones that apply to your school's state, so the list is not the same from school to school.

Read the Table

Step 7: Read the table. Every row is a student, and their name is a link through to their own page. Every column is one standard, headed by that standard's code - although a set such as CIPA, which names its standards rather than numbering them, heads its columns with the names instead. A green tick in a cell means that student has met that standard; a red cross means they have not met it yet.

Print or Export the Report

Step 8: Above the table, the record count tells you how many students are in front of you, and (1) Print and (2) Export take it out of Typing.com. Both act on the report exactly as it stands on screen, so set your class and standard set before you use them. Print or Export a Report covers what each button gives you.

Pro-Tip: The report's name at the top left of the window is a dropdown. Open it and you can swap to any other report without closing this one and starting again.

That's it! You now know how to pull a standards table for any of your classes.
