Instructions for Managing Students in Your Class on Typing.com if You Are Using Google Classroom
If you are using Google Classroom, here are some tips to help you manage your students on Typing.com. There is a fuller walkthrough of the sync itself in Sync With Google Classroom (Teacher). Below are the common issues you may run into, and how to resolve them.
Adding, Moving, or Removing Students
Step 1: Make the change in Google Classroom first - add, move or remove the student there.
Step 2: Log in to your Typing.com account.
Step 3: Click Classes in the left-hand menu, then click Sync with Google Classroom above the class table. Your roster on Typing.com catches up with Google Classroom.
Removing an Entire Class
Step 1: Click Classes, then Sync with Google Classroom. The window Select Google Classroom Classes to Sync opens, with one card per class.
Step 2: Click the green Synced card for the class you want to remove. It turns red and reads Removing.
Step 3: Click Sync Selected Classes at the foot of the window. The class is removed from Typing.com.
A card set to Removing prints its own warning first: "This class will be removed from your Typing.com account. Note that students will not lose their progress and will still be able to log in, however they will not be associated with this class."
Handling Syncing Issues
Step 1: If a class will not sync, remove it and add it back. Removing it is the three steps under Removing an Entire Class, above.
Step 2: Add the class back by syncing it again: click its card so it reads Syncing, then click Sync Selected Classes.
We hope these steps help you effectively manage your classes. If you still encounter any difficulties or have further questions, please feel free to get in touch at support@typing.com.
