How to Delete Students from Your Class (Teacher)

Edited

Need to clean up your class roster? You can delete students from your class at any time. Deleting students is simple, but remember: this will erase all their progress and access. Their account will no longer exist, and they’ll need to create a new one to continue using Typing.com. If you want them to keep their account but be removed from your class, check out this article HERE to learn how.

Rostered classes work differently. If your class is synced from Google Classroom, Clever, ClassLink or Microsoft Teams, remove the student in that platform instead and wait for the overnight re-sync. A rostered class's Students toolbar offers only More Actions, with Reset Progress inside it.

Let’s get started!

Step 1: Log in to your Teacher Portal HERE.

Step 2: Click on Classes.

Step 3: Select the class containing the student(s) you want to delete.

Step 4: Inside the class page, click the Students tab to access the class roster.

Step 5: Select the student or students by clicking the checkbox to the left of the name. A checkmark appears, and the toolbar above the roster becomes available.

Step 6: Click the Delete button in the toolbar above the roster, alongside Print Login Cards and Student Settings.

Step 7: A Delete Student dialog appears, warning that deleting erases all progress and removes the account from Typing.com, and suggesting unlinking as the alternative. Type the word CONFIRM in the field, then click Delete.

That’s it! Now you know how to delete a student from your class. 😊
