Remove Students From Your Class Without Deleting Them (Teacher)

Edited

Looking to clean up your class roster without deleting student accounts and their progress? You can easily unlink students from your class, allowing them to join another class without losing their hard-earned progress. This process is simple and ensures that students can continue their learning journey smoothly. Let's walk through the steps!

Pro-Tip: if the class is rostered from Google Classroom, Clever, ClassLink or Microsoft Teams, its roster belongs to that platform - remove the student there instead. On a rostered class More Actions offers only Reset Progress.

Step 1: Log in to your Teacher Portal here.

Step 2: Click Classes in the left-hand menu.

Step 3: Open the class the student is in.

Step 4: Open the Students tab.

Step 5: Tick the box beside each student, or the box in the header row to take the whole class.

Step 6: Click More Actions and choose Unlink.

Step 7: Unlink Students explains that the accounts stay intact. Type CONFIRM in the box and click Unlink Students.

Pro-Tip: You can also locate an individual student using the search bar.

That's it! They are off your roster with their accounts and progress intact, ready to join another class. 😄
