Print Login Cards (Teacher)

Edited

When your class starts, the first step is having students log into their accounts. You can help your students by printing login cards so they always remember their login information. These cards can be kept by the students or managed by you. This way, your students will never forget their passwords, emails, or usernames. Let’s get started!

Pro-Tip: Login cards are for classes you manage in Typing.com. If your class is rostered from Google Classroom - and the same is expected of Clever, ClassLink and Microsoft Teams - students sign in through that provider instead, so there are no Typing.com passwords to print. A rostered class's Students tab offers only Class Settings and More Actions, and the class has no join code.

Step 1: Log in to your Teacher Portal HERE.

Step 2: Click on Classes

Step 3: Select the name of the class for which you want to print login cards.

Step 4: Once inside the class page, click on the 'Students' tab to access the class roster.

Step 5: Tick the box to the left of a student's name to select them, or the box in the header row to select the whole class. The buttons above the roster stay grayed out until at least one student is selected.

Step 6: Click Print Login Cards above the roster.

Step 7: A new tab opens where you can print or download the login cards. Click Print.

Pro-Tip: If the passwords print as dots rather than text, open Class Settings → Advanced Options and tick 'Clear-text student passwords'. Worth a thought before you do: it makes every student's password readable to anyone who can see the Class Settings or the printed cards, so hand the cards out promptly and don't leave them lying around.

That’s it! Now you know how to print login cards. 😀
