Unleash Creativity with Our Written Prompt Feature!

Edited

A Written Prompt is a custom lesson that asks students to write rather than copy. You set the question; they compose, format and submit an answer of their own, and you read what they wrote in the Written Prompt Details report.

How it works

  • Teachers write the prompts. You create one on Custom Lessons in the left-hand menu: click Create Custom Lesson and choose Written Prompt. Students cannot make their own.

  • Students answer them. A published prompt appears in the student's lesson list, or only inside an assignment if you chose to keep it there.

Written Prompt is a PLUS feature. Free accounts can create the other two kinds of custom lesson, typing lessons and typing tests, but the Written Prompt card is marked PLUS and does not open.

For the full walkthrough, including how to read the responses, see How to Create a Written Prompt.
