Manage Your Account (Teacher)

Edited

Taking control of your account settings ensures a seamless and efficient experience on our platform. Whether you’re updating personal information, managing organization details, or enhancing security, this guide will walk you through the steps to manage your Teacher account effectively.

Open My Account Settings

Step 1: Log in to your Teacher Portal HERE.

Step 2: Hover over your name in the top right corner, then click Account.

Pro-Tip: Clicking your name goes straight to My Account Settings without opening the menu.

Update Your Personal Info

Your Personal Info: The left-hand card on My Account Settings holds your Email, Nickname, First Name, Last Name, Phone and Time Zone. Update Personal Info stays grayed out until you change something; click it to save.

Pro-Tip: If the Email field is grayed out, you sign in with Google, Clever, ClassLink or Microsoft, and that provider owns your email address. To take it back, submit a request to remove the SSO at support@typing.com.

Update Your Organization Details

Organization Details: The right-hand card holds your organization's name - School Name or District Name, depending on your account type - and its address and phone number. Changes here apply to every teacher in the same organization. Click Update Organization to save. If you don't see this card, a school or district administrator controls those details.

Note: Replacing the Typing.com logo with your school or district logo is a PLUS feature. Without PLUS the uploader is still on the card, grayed out and badged PLUS Feature.

Change Your Password

Change Your Password: At the bottom of the Your Personal Info card, under a label reading Password, click Change Your Password. This is only on accounts that sign in with a Typing.com email and password - if you sign in with Google, Clever, ClassLink or Microsoft, change your password with that provider instead.

The window that opens is headed Change Your Password and asks for Current Password, New Password and New Password Again. Click Update Password to save.

Note: If you are unable to change your password, you can submit a request at support@typing.com.

Convert Your Account Type

Your current account type is at the top of My Account Settings: Account Type reads Classroom, School or District, and Current License reads PLUS Account or Free - Ad Supported.

Convert Your Account: A Classroom account can become a School or District account from this page. Click Change to School or District Account beside Account Type, then pick a column in the Account Types window and click Convert to School Account for Free or Convert to District Account for Free. On a School account the link reads Change to District Account. Converting only goes upwards: once you are on a District account there is nothing bigger to move to.

Note: To change the role of your account (Teacher, School Admin, District Admin, Billing Admin) you will need to send an email to support@typing.com to make the change.

Account Types:

  • Classroom: Unlimited classes and unlimited students, with one teacher - you.

  • School: Everything a Classroom account has, plus unlimited teachers and unlimited school administrators. After converting you can invite other teachers and administrators - they must have a Typing.com account before you can add them. You keep every class, student and record you already had.

  • District: Everything a School account has, plus unlimited schools and unlimited district administrators. You keep every class, student and record you already had.

Pro-Tip: If you need to add co-teachers to your classes, you need to have a School or District account.

That’s it! Managing your account is now a breeze. If you have any questions or need further assistance, our support team is always here to help.
