The Progress Page: Streaks and Milestones

Edited

Your progress page gathers everything Typing.com has recorded about your typing: your speed and accuracy, the days you have practiced, the keys you miss most, and how far through each course you are. This article walks through it, section by section.

Open My Progress

Step 1: Log in to your account here.

Step 2: Click Progress on the top menu, then click My Progress.

The page holds four sections: My Performance, Activity Tracker, Your Top Problem Keys and Lesson Progress.

My Performance

The first section shows Stars, Average Speed, Average Accuracy, Time Spent Typing and Longest Streaks, over a control that sets the timeframe they cover. Longest Streaks is printed as two figures: your best run of days, and your best run of weeks.

The Activity Tracker

Below that is a month calendar, with arrows beside the month name to move back and forward a month at a time. Every day you were active is marked, and anything counts: lessons, tests and games all put a mark on the day.

A day whose time reaches your Daily Goal gets a lightning mark instead. Hover a marked day and it tells you what you did that day - the time you spent, your average speed and your average accuracy.

Day streaks and week streaks

The calendar carries an eighth column, headed Week Streak. A week you were active gets a flame, a past week you missed gets a cross, and a week that has not happened yet is left blank. The week you are in shows the length of your run in weeks in place of the flame.

Underneath the calendar your two running streaks are shown, one counted in days and one in weeks. Before you have a streak at all, that line invites you to keep typing to start one and offers a Start Typing button. The same two figures also appear above your lesson list on the lessons page.

Streaks turn into badges as they grow. The Achievements page has a Daily Streaks category holding seven badges, at 3, 7, 14, 30, 50, 100 and 365 days, and a Weekly Streaks category holding seven more, at 2, 4, 8, 12, 18, 52 and 100 weeks.

Your Top Problem Keys

The third section names the keys you miss most and how often you miss them, over a Keyboard Accuracy Breakdown - a keyboard shaded to show which keys are giving you trouble. Two buttons sit with it: Reset Problem Keys, which clears what has been recorded, and Practice Problem Keys, which starts a lesson built from those keys.

Lesson Progress

The last section lists every course you can take, one table per course, with a column each for Lessons, Completion, Stars, Quiz Score, Speed, Accuracy and Time.

Pro-Tip: The calendar measures each day against your Daily Goal, which you set from the gear inside the daily goal dial on your lessons page.
