Typing.com Test Prep Unit Requirements

Edited

Two things decide whether your students can reach the Test Prep unit: your license and your class's curriculum. This article covers both, and shows where the curriculum setting lives.

Test Prep Unit Requirements

The Test Prep unit is a PLUS unit, and it is built into the 2nd Grade through 8th Grade curricula only. If you are on PLUS and your students cannot see it, the class is almost certainly set to a curriculum outside that range. Three of the choices in the list are legacy curricula - Typing.com Legacy, Kindergarten - Legacy and 1st Grade - Legacy - and none of them carries Test Prep.

Checking and Changing Class Curriculum

Step 1: Click Classes in the left-hand menu. Each class's curriculum is printed in its own column, so you can often read it here without opening anything.

Step 2: To see or change the setting itself, open the class, click Class Settings, and look at Curriculum on the Details tab.

Step 3: Choose a curriculum between 2nd Grade and 8th Grade, then click Save All Changes at the top right of the window. How Can I Change My Class Curriculum walks through it in full.

With the class on a 2nd to 8th Grade curriculum, Test Prep appears in the students' lesson list under Applied Typing. If you have questions or need further assistance, our support team is always here to help.
