The Class Page: Students, Teachers, Assignments, Reports and Scoreboard
Clicking a class opens it on its Students tab - the roster of the students in that class - with five tabs across the top. This article covers what each of those tabs is for, and what sits in the class header above them. For one list of every student across all of your classes, use Students in the left-hand menu.
Opening a class
Step 1: Click Classes in the left-hand menu.
Step 2: Click the class you want. The class opens on its Students tab, with the roster directly under the header.
The class header
The class name sits top left with its curriculum on a badge underneath. On the right are Class Join Code, which prints the code under its own label and copies the class's self-join link when you click it, and Class Settings. See Self-Join Link VS Join Code and How to Adjust Class Settings.
To the right of the tabs is the announcement strip, with Add on the end of it. Clicking it opens Class Settings on the Announcement tab, where what you write shows on your students' dashboard.
The Students tab
Students carries a count in the tab itself and lists the class with First Name, Last Name, Username, Last Login, Typing Time, Avg Speed and Avg Acc. All seven columns sort.
The dropdown at the right-hand end of the toolbar sets the period the last three of those columns are measured over. It starts on This Week, and also offers Today, Yesterday, Last Week, Last 7 Days, This Month, Last Month, Last 30 Days and Last 180 Days.
The rest of the toolbar acts on the students you tick. Print Login Cards, Student Settings, Delete and More Actions come to life once a row is ticked, and Add Students is live either way. Each has an article of its own: Print Login Cards, Change Individual Student Settings, How to Delete Students from Your Class, and under More Actions, Remove Students From Your Class Without Deleting Them, Move Students to Another Class, Easily edit a Student's Password, Name and Email and Reset Student Progress.
A green exclamation mark beside a student's name means that student's settings differ from the class defaults. Hover it and it says so: "This user setting has been uniquely modified for this student."
The Teachers tab
Teachers lists everyone teaching the class, with a Last Login column, and marks your own row YOU. Add Teachers and Remove Teacher from Class sit above the table and Export All Teachers and Admins under it. Add Co-teachers to a class covers bringing someone in.
The Assignments tab
Assignments holds the assignments you have given this class. On a class with none yet, the tab offers Create an Assignment, and How to Create an Assignment takes it from there.
The Reports tab
Reports is the report catalog, narrowed to this class, in five groups: Test Reports, Lesson Reports, Activity Reports, Game Reports and Usage Reports. Reports on Student Progress explains what the reports hold.
The Scoreboard tab
Scoreboard has three boards - Fastest Typers, Active Typers and Typing Gamers - and a Date dropdown for the period they cover. What Does the Scoreboard Show? covers what each board measures.
Pro-Tip: On a class you roster through a provider such as Google Classroom, the roster is managed in that platform, so the toolbar above it offers More Actions on its own. See I Don't See the Options to Add New Students.
